Sinking down into the depths of "public history"

One could stage a contest asking people to send in links showing just how low public history is willing to go to "educate" and interest the uneducated and disinterested.

This would be an item:
If Abraham Lincoln's in-laws were alive today, "they would probably be throwing chairs at each other on the Jerry Springer show," according to a visiting professor at Chico State University.
