... please allow me to correct a couple of things about me personally. My connection with American Heritage Magazine lasted only in its first days, 1954-57, as a lowly editorial assistant. The rest of my twenty-one years at the company was in the book division or related areas. I was never the magazine’s editor, despite the fact that a Houghton Mifflin flap-copy writer mixed up “of” and “at.” Even the best publishers have morons writing flap copy. And, my goodness, I’ve never won a Pulitzer Prize or even contended for one!I always appreciate corrections. Great stuff.
