Philadelphia is down to its last Civil War museum (due to budget issues) and would you believe they are not displaying Meade's horse's head! Mr. Waskie would like to see the head of Old Baldy taken out of storage and reunited with the reins on Gen. Meade’s horse, currently on display.Let their labors not be in vain.
“The head of Old Baldy was obtained by two members of the Grand Army. They had it preserved and then put the skin over a plaster mold and framed on a wooden fence,” Mr. Waskie said.
